Heritage and Conservation Skills Courses

This project delivered a range of different workshops and training days that encouraged the use and revival of both traditional and modern crafts and practical conservation skills. Workshops were specific to the heritage and landscape of the Weaver Valley and ranged from bee keeping and canal boat painting to hedge laying, charcoal making and woodcarving.

Workshops and talks from local experts raised awareness of the unique salt landscape, heritage and wildlife of the Weaver Valley and provided people with the skills to manage and protect the area in the future.

This has been a hugely successful project for the Landscape Partnership Scheme with many people coming back for more and more of our courses. We hope we have played a part in keeping old traditions alive and have helped inspire people to try new crafts and share their skills.

What have we delivered?

  • Series of training courses, workshops and lectures in wide range of disciplines.

“Excellent content, excellent training.”

“Range of activities on offer is superb!”

“Perfect day, it’s prompted me to get crafting.”
