Saltscape Trainees

The Saltscape trainee programme has been providing vital workplace based experience and mentoring for young people and recent graduates for future careers in heritage, conservation and environmental education.

Threaded across various projects, the partnership sought out opportunities to recruit and place trainees to work alongside project staff who acted as professional mentors throughout their placement. Trainees were able to learn from the experts and improve their knowledge in their desired field. Our trainees have gone on to work for organisations such as RSPB, National Trust, Wildlife Trust and other landscape partnership schemes such as this one.

A total of 7 trainees have benefited from this project. Read some of their blogs:

  • Ruby – Saltscape Conservation Trainee at Cheshire Wildlife Trust
  • Fiona – Saltscape Community Engagement Trainee at Groundwork, Northwich
  • Laura – Saltscape Conservation Trainee at Cheshire Wildlife Trust
  • Ellen – Saltscape Communications Trainee at Groundwork, Northwich

What have we delivered?

  • 7 trainee placements over the last three years
  • Improved the employability of young people in the local area
