Hurdling How-To

Saul’s latest course at Thorn Wood in Weaverham saw students reviving the ancient art of hurdle-making.

Students used green woodworking skills to create gate hurdles from riven ash.   The wood is split down the grain and worked down to the required dimensions and then assembled to create the panels.    Traditionally, the panels would have been used as temporary enclosures for livestock but they also make great garden features!
