This project aimed to engage individuals and the general community in the preservation and conservation of local historical records.

Visits were organised to the Local Record Office in Chester to see how it operated, look at the archives and learn about digitisation and how collections are managed. Training was provided for volunteers on how to collect and collate information and the importance of preserving and obtaining documents.

A series of courses, talks and workshops that ranged from exploring Cheshire’s archives to learning skills in curating and exhibiting helped people to further engage with their local history.
